Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model from 11 November 1996. Following her feature film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Approached by a photographer Doody began to model and subsequently an industry-related career in modelling. Doody tried to stay clear of glamorous and sexy roles, which was a principle she followed in her acting. Doody was offered a tiny role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was spotted by the casting director. Doody's name appeared as a part of John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising new actors from 1986. 38. Doody was still only 18 years old at the time of her debut in the Bond role. Today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying with Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody was unspoken as the wife of Archibald Craven Lilias when she appeared in his dream, 1987's adaptation of The Secret Garden. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took perhaps her most well-known role to date as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody is part of the James Bond family, having played alongside Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in the film Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud named The Hitler Diaries. She later moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as the spokeswoman of L'Oreal she was later chosen to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery the agent's girlfriend. Doody returned to acting in 2003 with a minor role as a character in her role in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards ceremony. In 2004, Doody appeared with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody filmed a role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). She received the Almeria film award on November 21, 2018.
